Jeanie Gunter

I'm in my 23rd year of teaching. I have taught 3rd grade, 6th grade World History, 6th Grade Reading and Writing, and ESL for 6th, 7th and 8th grade. I have also taught an Intervention class for Tier 2 students who need help with being successful in school. I currently teach 6th Grade Writing in a Middle School.

I believe in a positive learning environment. I want to show the students that learning is fun. I use a lot of technology and hands-on activities. I also like to provide them with memorable experiences because I believe that contributes to a happy and positive learning environment.

I smile when the students call me "mom" on accident because I think of them as my "kiddos". It's an honor to be their teacher. I have also served as the President for the Logan Education Association, my local division of the UEA and NEA. I also served for 5 years as the Northern Director on the Utah Education Association Board of Directors.

I have a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education with teaching minors in Psychology and English. I also have endorsements in Reading and ESL. I also have a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction.

I am married and the mother of two wonderful children. I have 3 step children and 12 grandkids. I love to read, cook and shop in my spare time.
