I am a Civil Engineer and I have been a math tutor for over 20 years in courses consisting of Elementary Math, Pre-Algebra, Algebra, Geometry, and Pre-Calculus. I have worked with a variety of students ranging from Grades 3rd through 12th, as well as, in college. I have tutored students in-person and online and developed good working relationships with the student and their parent(s).

My main strategy is to get the student to understand one concept at a time and preach repetition of practicing problems until the methodology becomes second nature. I believe in practice makes perfect in that practicing math problems over and over is the key to understanding the foundation and principles to order to move to the next level. As you get into the upper levels of math like Calculus and Differential Equations, math will teach you how to critically think and make key decisions in order to arrive at the correct solution.
