I have been teaching for nine years in both private and public school settings. I have experience teaching NYS Regents Living Environment, Regents Chemistry, Marine Science, General Chemistry, and Science Research.
I teach through a blend of hands-on laboratory experiences, projects, and guided, illustrated notes. I have found that for me it works best to present information to students through the use of scaffolded notes that follow along with my power point presentations. Students may simply be filling in a vocabulary term, completing a comparison chart, or answering questions in their note packets based on the information presented. I am also a huge proponent of integrating new technologies into my teaching practices. I am a frequent user of Kahoot, Quizlet Live, and EdPuzzle to supplement my classroom routines.
