Current and experienced Multiple Subject Teacher that has taught for the two largest school districts in the country - NYC and Los Angeles. Most at home at the most challenging and diverse public schools. Earlier was a tech teacher and supervised a cluster of schools for an award-winning after school program. I graduated from a Big 10 university with a degree from their renowned journalism school which afforded me the opportunity to work in public television news and public affairs and later for a variety of cable and network television shows. Recently completed an M.S. Ed. in OTL (online teaching and learning). With many districts now forced to move learning to online or a hybrid model, I am perfectly suited to do so.
My pedagogy is predicated on cultually responsive teaching models and beliefs. I align my teaching to student centered, constructivist, paradigms. I believe technology is a necessary component in lesson development and delivery, as well as harnessing the personal devices students utilize in their daily lives. I also adhere to the pursuit of creating a strong community of learners in numerous ways that are reflective of the diversity of cultures I continue to have the privilege of serving.

I didn't choose teaching as a career. Rather, it chose me. I began as a radio/tv production teacher at a vocational school in the Upper Midwest. My undergraduate degree is from Indiana University-Bloomington. I received my teaching credential from Antioch University-Los Angeles. And this past December 2019, I completed my M.S.Ed. from CaIifornia State University-East Bay in Online Teaching and Learning! If anything, I continue to pursue Life Long Learning enrichment opportunities, such as, but notwithstanding, attendance at Writer's/Reader's Workshops at Columbia University's Teacher's College.
Creative person with a depth of knowledge, thanks to my background in journalism and communications, to develop curriculum that appeals to students of the 21st Century.
