TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I teach and I write and I absolutely love both! In my 20+ years in the classroom, I've taught nearly every grade from 1st through 8th and have served on the ELA Curriculum Design Team, VAPA team, Equity Team, and AVID team. I am currently the AVID Literacy Coach for my school. In addition, I'm a teacher consultant & presenter with the Inland Area Writing Project, a CTI Coach for new teachers, and a published romance author.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I am a holistic teacher through and through. I believe in a writing-centric classroom, thematic units that incorporate all subject areas, and hands-on lessons where the focus is on student discovery.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I was awarded a $20,000 IFT Grant from the California Teachers Association to create a Writers Lab for our school site.
