TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I am an experienced Primary School educator, having recently worked as a Kindergarten teacher, Year 1/2 teacher and across the school in a wide variety of subject areas including, Science, Health, Sport and Technology & Enterprise. I hold a Bachelor of Education, with a specialisation in Early Childhood Education. I have worked in District Ofice as a Curriculum Officer and in schools in the area of Literacy and Numeracy Support. I have been employed as a teacher for over 20 years. My recent teaching includes a split grade class of Kindergarten to Year ! including students aged 3-7 years. I am currently homeschooling my daughter (9), my nephew with ASD (also 9) and my son (11).

MY TEACHING STYLE

I have an eclectic teaching style, we follow a project led approach with a strong interest in nature based learning.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

In 2007 I was a Round Winner of the Premier's Teacher Award.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I was registered with the Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia. I was granted Level Three Classroom Teacher Status in 2006. I have considerable experience in Early Childhood Education having worked for Midlands District Education Office in 2001-2002 as the Early Childhood Curriculum Officer, and having been employed in a number of Early Childhood teaching positions throughout my career. I also have 5 years experience as a Getting It Right Literacy Support teacher. I was most recently registered with the Teacher Registration Board of Tasmania and currently hold homeschool registration through the Office of Education Registrar.
