I have been teaching for 12 years and I am currently a Technology Integration Specialist for one of the largest districts in Maine. I have also worked as a 4th grade teacher, a Title I Reading Teacher and an Ed Tech III. I aide other teachers in learning how to incorporate various forms of media into their lessons. I enjoy keeping our district staff up to date with all the new and fun technologies. I keep my plate very full, but I also find it very rewarding.
My classroom is always a warm friendly place to be. My style is very discussion oriented with many opportunities for hands-on learning, problem-solving, and exploration. I find that when the kids feel they are driving the buggy...they are more apt to engage fully and retain more of each lesson. Most of my lessons include student participation at the Smartboard, Google Classroom AND at their seats. Just because there is one child at the board, doesn't mean the kids seated can't participate too.
