I have over 20 years of public high school and middle school ELA experience. I have been blessed to teach in urban middle and high schools, suburban high schools, and spent the majority of my career at a rural high school in Ohio. I have taught various grade levels and electives, from ninth grade English to Greek Mythology and speech electives to dual enrollment college courses.
I aim to have a class that is interactive and impactful for all of my students. I want to create a differentiated environment that meets each student where they are, and challenges them in a way they grow. I strive to have a student-centered approach, and to be a class that students value and remember as a positive part of their school experience.
I am honored to be a entry year teacher mentor, as well as a service-learning cooperating teacher for student teachers. But the greatest awards I have earned are these: a visit back from an alumni asking if I have an extra copy of the novel we read in class to add to his personal home library; an email thanking me for what we learned preparing students for college classes; and a message of appreciation for my class being one they remember that made a positive impact on them.

I am not only a high school ELA teacher, but a coach of multiple sports, and most importantly a mom of TWO sets of twins, and wife to the most supportive and amazing husband one could ask for!
