I have been teaching since 2006, and I recently made the switch from teaching English to teaching Computer Science. I know that is a huge jump in disciplines, but I am so happy with the change! I have always loved technology and edtech, so I saw a need and decided to make the switch. I love teaching again, and I love my students! I want to make CS fun and accessible for all teachers and students. There is an increasing need for CS teachers, and my goal is to create lessons that help new CS teachers bridge the knowledge gap. I hope you enjoy my products!
I strive to give one-on-one help to each and every student in my class. With CS, I am able to set students on a task, and circulate to answer questions and clarify misunderstandings. I also think students learn best by doing. As much as possible, I have my students getting into computers, using virtual machines, and manipulating hardware. With technology, making mistakes and being frustrated is a natural part of learning, so I make sure that students have plenty of opportunities to fail, troubleshoot, and try again.
