TEACHING EXPERIENCE

The son of two teachers, I was raised to believe that access to quality education is a right that all children should have. After finishing college, I joined Teach for America and ended up in Brooklyn, NY. I taught in Brooklyn for five years at two public schools. One was a large career and technical education high school, and the other was a small arts high school. Currently, I teach at an arts charter high school in Los Angeles, California. Since most of my experience has been working with at-risk youth, you'll find that many of the resources on the site have built in literacy and differentiation strategies to appeal to multiple types and levels of learners.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Rigorous. I design my resources in a way that requires students to engage in higher level thinking. I also enjoy a cross-curricular approach, incorporating literature and art as often as possible.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

During my first year teaching, I was always frustrated at the lack of ready to use resources for the high school level teacher. In searching the internet and sites like TpT, I always found an abundance of resources for the K-6 teacher. Therefore, I always ended up spending a lot of time and effort in creating my own resources and rarely using the textbook. Over the last five years, I've found myself sharing lesson plans, worksheets, and handouts with colleagues on flash drives, who have been very happy with the results. Therefore, my ultimate goal in joining TpT is to provide rigorous, ready to use resources for the high school level history teacher at an affordable price. I hope you enjoy the products found on my site, and please provide positive feedback if you find them useful!
