I have taught special education for 1.5 years. This year, I teach Study Skills, Study Skills Social Studies, Study Skills Science, Pre-Vocational Skills, and Co-taught Government. Last year, I taught Basic English and Basic Math.
I like to consider myself an outside-the-box thinker. I like to teach my students things we don't usually consider teaching, such as how to create a resume, and how to read an apartment lease. Sometimes it is challenging to find modified materials that are appropriate for high school students. I believe it is important to use age-appropriate materials when teaching high school special education classes.

I graduated with my bachelor's in Special Education / Cross-Categorical in December of 2020. I am currently working on my master's in Special Education, Autism Spectrum Disorders Emphasis.
I chose to teach special education because my younger sister has a learning disability and my younger brother is on the autism spectrum. Because of this, I love working with students who have disabilities. When I am not teaching, I like to spend time with friends, family, and my two cats, Remy and Oliver.
