I've been teaching since 2000, beginning in higher education and later into the public schools. I have taught in the New Jersey public schools for 13 years, teaching Spanish to 3rd through 8th graders and English Language Arts in middle school. I am certified and highly qualified to teach Spanish, English and Drama. Currently, I am teaching 6th-8th grade Spanish and 7th Grade ELA in the public schools. I am also teaching Public Speaking at a local university in south Jersey.
My teaching style is very energetic and lively. While there is a definite structure to the class, I have enough experience in my toolbox to switch gears when needed and to make class fun. Our jobs can require a lot of hard work, so I'm all about working smart, not just hard. I started creating my own worksheets and activities to streamline the day to day operations of teaching. These also helped me engage my students, who saw more value in relatable, up to date lessons.
I received a full scholarship to graduate school. I graduated summa cum laude.
I have a master of fine arts in Drama and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish.
I am a mother of two darling boys, Johnny 9 and Nicholas 5. My husband and I have been together for 17 years and live happily in Gloucester County, New Jersey. We are both teachers, which presents many challenges and opportunities. Like all parents, we struggle with finding balance between work and family life. We are very passionate about teaching and bring our love of learning home and at school.
