TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have taught preschool for 3 plus years. I have also student taught and tutored for a couple of years 2nd grade, 4th grade and fifth grade. I have taught fourth grade at a bilingual school for two years and currently teach fourth grade ELA and Science at a public school. I love my job and the adventure that teaching is.

MY TEACHING STYLE

In my classroom the students are the center of what they learn. they are hands on, move around the room, and work together as a community of learners. Very rarely do they sit in their seats and listen to me teach. It's a give and take teaching relationship where I teach them new strategies and skills and they teach me.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

My students helped me achieve the highest growth in reading across our company with an average growth of 1.8 years!

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I grew up in a small country town where everyone knew everyone. I went to the same school since kindergarten. My grandparents used to work in the school so I was well known and could get away with nothing. I went to OU and then back to school for a 4/5 endorsement and a reading endorsement. I have a great support system and continue to find areas where I can further my education.
