ESL Kindergarten teacher for 9 years in Arizona. I've taught Kindergarten and 1st grade (looping with my Kinder class up to 1st every other year) for the past 5 years in Michigan and still going strong!
I love to create fun and meaningful ways to help ALL of my students learn. The Science of Reading has been a game-changer with my Kinder friends and it's amazing to see how much growth they make by learning how words work and really learning how to read, rather than just memorizing. That goes for math as well; I enjoy helping students dig deeper to understand numbers and concepts that we are learning. I am also huge on creating a positive classroom culture and building relationships with my students. Everyone is important and everyone's voice matters in my room.
Yet to be added
Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education. Additional Graduate coursework in Bilingual and Multicultural Education with an ESL focus as well as Literacy Studies.
I have learned through life that the biggest reward gained is obtained through hard work and perseverance. I teach because I love it; because I believe that I can make a difference. With a little hustle and a lot of heart, my hope is that I can continue to make a difference in classrooms across the world through my resources.
