I have been teaching mathematics and special education for the past 5 years. I have taught in a severe, self-contained elementary special education classroom as well as a high-school self-contained unit for students with emotional disturbances. I have spent the last three years teaching secondary mathematics to students with disabilities in the modified general education setting.
I love inquiry based instructional methods. I have learned that the more students investigate mathematical patterns, the more they understand and can utilize them. I love a task based lesson in which students can really jump into the math concept through a real-world context, collaborate with peers to figure out the tricky parts, and have a rich mathematical discussion to share, connect, synthesize, and add vocabulary to what they discovered during their task.

I completed my Master's of Arts degree in Secondary Mathematics Education in 2021 and I have a level 4 teaching license in the area of secondary mathematics in the state of Utah.
I have a toddler who I absolutely adore and wish there was infinitely more time to enjoy his young years. My hobbies include reading the Very Hungry Caterpillar (my toddler's favorite right now), playing Flyball with my two German Shepherds (a super fun dog sport), and anything to do with Harry Potter (my go to way to feel like a kid again). I've purchased so many resources from Teachers Pay Teachers over the years and loved saving my valuable time in creation. I am hoping to share some of the resources I've created in the hopes of saving other teachers the precious time we have.
