After spending a decade in the classroom as a science teachers and instructional specialist, I am now the High School Science Facilitator for Mesquite Independent School District in Mesquite, Texas. In this role, I develop science curriculum and instruction for high school teachers from all 5 high schools in the district.
I strongly believe in a hands-on approach to teaching science. Each day I try to incorporate a lab or activity that allows students to investigate and explore the day's topic. I try to teach major concepts using a Learning Cycle/5E approach, and I am constantly trying to improve and implement effective teaching practices.
