I taught 2nd and 3rd grade for 5 years, all subjects contained. I also taught art during the summer break.
My teaching style is student-centered. I love creating structured, engaging, and valuable activities that get students excited about being independent and learning on their own. I always include multiple versions and activities in everything I sell because I know that students are all at different levels and come to learn with different abilities. My goal in creating each activity or lesson is that it is engaging, that the students can work on it independently, and that it is beautiful.
Raise your hand if you've had some unforgettable students. Runners anyone? Haha one of my favorite things about teaching is that these "difficult" students often became my favorite, and just needed structure and love. I also received a grant to teach art at my school!
I have a bachelor's in english and a master's in education.
It was hard to leave the classroom, but I wanted to explore other fields. I may not be in the classroom right now, but I love creating new activities and staying up-to-date on the latest educational trends! My teacher friends keep me in the loop :)
