TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been teaching at the elementary level for 15 years and have been in the middle school for 3 years. I have my undergrad degree in PK - 12 music education and my Masters' Degree in Gifted and Talented Instruction with a focus on the musically gifted. I also have experience with preschool music classes.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Most of my teaching centers around the ideas and research of Dr. John Feierabend! His methods are simply amazing. They are backed by years of research and have proven successful year after year. They are logical, age appropriate, and child-centered. In my classes we make music constantly. There is very little "teacher talk" going on (as much as I can help it!) I also have my Level 1 Orff Certification and infuse my classroom with many Orff principles and ideas. As Dr. Feierabend says, my number one rule in my classroom is to "sing FOR the students, not with them!!"
