TEACHING EXPERIENCE

My teaching experience started long before I had my first classroom. I spent most of my childhood and teenage years working with children so becoming a teacher was an easy choice for me! Originally I thought I would teach middle school, but I fell in love with primary grades during my observations. During student teaching, I had limited curriculum to use so I started creating (very basic) centers and printables for my students. My mentor teachers were incredibly supportive and I felt confident going into my first year as a 3rd grade teacher! I hit my stride my 2nd year in the classroom...as the general ed teacher in 1st grade. I taught (and fell in love!) with students who had very high needs. I began creating resources to meet the students in my class who were significantly behind and above grade levels, students who need language supports and more. Each year after that, I have grown as an educator and developer. I am incredibly proud of the resources you'll find here in my store and can't wait to work with you!

MY TEACHING STYLE

It's not easy to describe my teaching style in a few sentences, but I believe relationships are the deciding factor in the classroom. Our students need to know we believe in them, love them and enjoy them. I spend every extra second working to build trust with my students and then we focus on the curriculum. My resources are engaging and easy to use, because I think you should spend you time on your students and yourself!

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

The best award is hearing my resources make YOUR life easier.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I graduated from a public high school in Lewisville, Texas. I received many services at school including guidance counseling, support groups, and gifted/talented. I also needed tutoring in math once I reached middle school. These experiences have shaped me as an educator and mom. I received my Bachelors of Science from Texas Woman's University in Elementary Education and English as a Second Language. I'm so proud that I received such a wonderful education focusing on the growing diversity in our classrooms.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I currently live in Dallas with my husband, our daughter Everly and our goldendoodle, Tucker. I am the big sister to 3 younger, including Liam that's 21 years younger than me. I love being apart of his education and experiencing things from this side of the parent-conference!
