I have 9 years of experience teaching high school Earth Science in the New York City Department of Education. While teaching Earth Science, I also created and taught two elective curriculums: Robotics and Astronomy. I also served as the school's Debate coach for 6 years.
I try to inspire confidence in my students by providing them the resources and tools that they need to succeed, and then allowing them to enjoy the learning process alone or in groups. Education should be an experience for students, not a job.
Although not technically an award, my finest moment as a teacher was when I was asked by two students to introduce them at graduation. I had coached these two students since Freshman year on the debate team. By senior year, they were the valedictorian and salutatorian. They asked to meet me after school one day and formally requested together that I introduce each of them at the graduation ceremony. That moment may have meant even more to me than introducing them at the ceremony.

Learning and the pursuit of knowledge are my true passions. If I can inspire that in anyone else here, I am in the right place.
