I am a former elementary school teacher turned homeschooling momma who has a heart for helping educators of all types. It is my hope that, whether you are a classroom teacher or a homeschooling momma, I can use my unique body of knowledge to create resources that will help lighten your load and make your day just a bit easier.
No matter the curriculum, the environment, or the subject matter... my teaching style has always been: rigorous, hands-on, and highly engaging.
Certified Clinical Educator, FSU and SLU Mentor/Cooperating Teacher, Member of the MTSS Leadership Team, Faculty Meeting Facilitator, Grade Level Chairperson, A+PEL Building Representative, Lead Tier III Reading Interventionist, Developer of the Math Problem of the Week Program, Grant Winner, and Member of the 100% Club. Was also featured in multiple local newspaper articles and television programs for work within the classroom.
I received my Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Louisiana State University in 2006 and went on to earn additional certification in Elementary Education from the Louisiana Resource Center for Educators in 2009. Since then, I have continued my education through additional college coursework, continuing education courses, and independent study.
In our homeschool, we use Classical Conversations as the foundation for our studies in history, Latin, geography, science, English grammar, and fine arts. We are looking forward to introducing the Montessori Method into our math curriculum this fall, while continuing our journey to literacy through phonics based reading instruction. In my most recent classroom experiences, I worked with the CCC in both 2nd and 3rd grade (all subjects).
