From the Ground Up

I have taught Pre-K through 5th grade in both public and private elementary schools. I am currently a stay-at-home mom. I decided to embark on a new adventure with TPT when I needed worksheets for my daughters while homeschooling.

I believe all children learn in different ways. Each child, each class, each year is different. Differentiation is the key. While I believe play, experience, project, and interest-driven learning is essential, I also believe in worksheets and good old-fashioned practice. There is no one right way to teach. It is a balance. "Good teaching" is teaching to your individual students' needs and to your class as a whole. What that looks like from one day to the next, depends on the subject, child, and group.

I received my undergrad degree in Liberal Studies and attended grad school in NYC. I was lucky to work with the Teachers College Reading and Writing Institute while earning my Master's Degree and teaching credential in Early Childhood Education and K-6 at Teachers College, Columbia University. I also am trained at as an Orton-Gillingham Associate.

I am a mom, teacher, daughter, friend, and advocate. Our children are our future. Education is the key. I hope my worksheets and ideas help. I know TPT has assisted me in teaching my children on many occasions. Let's work from the ground up to make a difference.
