TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I am entering my 18th year of teaching! I taught third grade for four years and fourth grade for 14 years. Teaching is my passion!

MY TEACHING STYLE

I believe in project based instruction. While I do think there is a time and a place for some direct instruction, I love to let the students take their learning in their own hands and get a little "messy" along the way!

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

Over the past thirteen years, my students have done exceptionally well in the CRCT we have in our state! While I know the data is important, I feel that watching them blossom into responsible, independent, lovers of learning is so much more rewarding! I have been recognized for my use of technology on many occasions and have taken our school's robotic team to the state level of competition three years in a row!

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I graduated college in three years and couldn't wait to get my own classroom! I graduated with a dual degree in early education and special education. Shortly after, I obtained my ESOL endorsement. After two years, I decided to go back and get my Masters and my gifted endorsement. A few years ago, I made the commitment and obtained my Specialists degree.
