By Fold-Origami FOLD teaches origami to people of all backgrounds and ages, from pre-k to seniors. Located in northern California, we offer classes with the Humboldt State University's Extended Education Program, the Humboldt County Office of Education, multiple charter schools, and privately. One special area of focus has been our work with at-risk youth through juvenile detention facilities and community school programs.
Origami is a practice that engages your ability to focus and be mindful. Our approach emphasizes being in the present moment and paying attention, actively developing patience, perseverance, precision and concentration. These are the jewels of origami practice. The folded models themselves are intriguing by-products and symbols of the work.
Dave Isaacs, co-founder of FOLD, is the featured artist in the 2020 Humboldt County Math Festival in Northern California.
FOLD draws on the diverse experiences of its founders. We come from fine arts, music, digital multimedia, education, training and entrepreneurial backgrounds.
