TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I've been teaching middle school science in a public school for over 20 years, mostly 7th and 8th grade. My husband, who helps out with my TPT store, has pretty much the same story!

MY TEACHING STYLE

Representation is key - kids will always see themselves and their community reflected in my classroom! Engagement is everything, so my classroom is light-hearted, welcoming, and fosters a safe atmosphere of exploration. Relationship-building is as important as curriculum standards. Student choice is offered regularly and assessments are differentiated. I follow NGSS standards closely but I'm not afraid to take an adventurous detour!

I have a bachelor's degree in biology and a master's degree in nutrition. My nutrition research work has been published in several peer-reviewed nutrition journals.
