TEACHING EXPERIENCE

As a teacher in public schools, a private Montessori, and as a homeschooling mom, I've worked with grades pre-k through 3. I have traveled a lot -I'm a military spouse - and have had the opportunity to teach in several places including Richmond, VA, Newport News, VA, Minneapolis, MN, Clarksville, TN, and now in Alexandria, VA.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I have always admired the teaching of Maria Montessori and aim to follow her method whenever I can. Children will show us what they need to be taught. It is up to us to observe that need, guide them, and then get out of their way!

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

The highest honor I have had is to be both a mother and a military spouse.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I have a M.A.Ed. from the University of St. Catherine in St. Paul, MN and a B.A. in English from the University of Massachusetts. I also have a primary diploma from the North American Montessori Center.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I am a mother of two beautiful children and currently work in Alexandria, Virginia. I hold licensure in Virginia and Tennessee. Follow our educational adventures at www.findingmontessori.blogspot.com.
