Eye Teach Tactile

As a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI), I teach students with low vision and blindness. My role consists of teaching students the Braille and Nemeth Code, assistive technology, independence, and skills to utilize functional vision. I conduct assessments on students to determine their functional vision and learning mediums. I adapt all necessary materials in large print or in braille. As a Certified Orientation & Mobility Specialist (COMS), I teach students with visual impairments how to travel efficiently with the use of mobility devices and adapted mobility devices. I also teach street crossings and utilization of public transportation.

I am a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) and Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist (COMS). I graduated from Illinois State University in 2015 with a Bachelors Degree in Special Education specializing in Low Vision and Blindness. I graduated from Northern Illinois University in 2018 with a Masters Degree in Special Education specializing in Orientation & Mobility.
