Hi! I'm Ruth, and together we'll embark on the life-changing journey of learning how to speak and write Mandarin Chinese! Born and raised in Harbin, the provincial capital of the Heilongjiang province, my combined ethnic background, higher education, and years of experience will cultivate a fun & engaging learning adventure synonymous with utmost success. My Background Growing up in the northernmost province of China, Mandarin Chinese is my first language. My standard Mandarin accent ensures that pronunciation, one of the most critical aspects of learning how to speak Chinese, is cultivated to perfection. To complement my ethnic background and first-hand experiences shared through this course, I obtained a bachelor's degree in International Communications with a minor in Education at the University of Nottingham, UK. After pursuing a master's degree in Journalism at Syracuse University, New York, a part-time teaching assistant position at the Language Center of Syracuse University inspired my decision to become a full-time teacher!
