I taught two years in Japan as an English teacher. I taught two years in Australia as a substitute. I've taught eight years in the United States as ESL teacher. I teach students who are learning English. In addition to English, I speak Japanese and French. My grandparents were Cajun, and English was their second language. I know a thing or two about language acquisition. =)
Discovery learning is my favorite. I like to let students look for patterns, do sorting activities, and discover the rules of language for themselves. As an EL teacher, I do spend a lot of my time giving comprehensible input and scaffolding content so that students at different language abilities can still enjoy and learn from a lesson or activity!
