TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been teaching high school English for fifteen years. During that time, I have taught tenth, eleventh, and twelfth grades, and levels that range from special-education/inclusion to AP Literature.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My materials are designed to engage students of all abilities, frequently making connections to the arts and history. I use best practices in reading comprehension strategies with guided reading activities, and work to involve students in lively discussion about literature.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

The greatest honor I receive is when a former student visits after a long day on the job, in college, or on leave from the military. I'm very proud of all they are accomplishing.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I earned both my Bachelor's Degree of Science in English Language Arts and my Master's Degree of Arts in Teaching from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.
