TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I've been teaching for 8 years. Besides having taught as "assitant teacher" in Blackpool, GB, I have been teaching English as a foreign language both for the German "Abitur" curriculum and the IB diploma course (Higher Level). I also teach history in English (also as part for the German "Abitur") as well as History SL for the IB diploma. I am an eTwinning enthusiast (www.etwinning.net) and work as an ambassador for the Erasmus + program in Europe.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Most of my classes feature an introduction that encourages all students to participate, and which ultimately addresses the core issue of the class. I prefer students to work self-sufficiently and cooperatively. In ESL, I focus on literature analysis and collocations. In history, I focus on source analysis and TOK issues.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I have won three eTwinning "quality labels" and a tablet competition.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

A-levels in Osnabruck. Community Service (replacing mendatory army service) at a school for disabled children. Studied English and History at Heidelberg and Osnabruck. Equivalent of PGSE ("Referendariat") in Hanover. Teaching at Gymnasium Schillerschule Hanover, IB World School
