Within the fourteen-year span of my teaching career, I have taught in different schools and in very diverse student populations. I have always taught English language and literature but have had the opportunity to teach honors, regular, and remedial students ranging from grades seven to twelve. I have also taught Technical English, Business Communications, and electives such as Speech and Teen Leadership. I have worked on planning and curriculum development committees and have served as a school-level professional development coordinator.
My classroom is full of different activities. I enjoy open discussions about language and literature and also like to engage students with various approaches to lessons, multimedia presentations, and cooperative learning. Every product in my store has been or is currently being used in my classroom.
I was awarded membership in Phi Kappa Phi's Honor Society, have been selected to serve on the board of both and educational research association and an international non-profit organization building and maintaining a leadership school across the globe. However, the greatest award I receive every year is the thanks and gratitude from cap-and-gown-clad graduating students with whom I've shared instruction and inspiration.
I graduated from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette with a degree in English then returned for my secondary education certification. I received my Master's Degree in Educational Leadership in 2017 and am currently working towards my Doctorate in the same area.
I am a teacher, student, mother, photographer, writer, and baker, and I work very hard to effectively juggle my professional and personal lives.
