I have several years of teaching experience in English Language Arts and Spanish, in the middle school and the high school setting. I have also taught ESOL English Language Arts in the middle school setting. I worked for many years in the corporate environment, working with bilingual (Spanish & English) speaking clients, colleagues, and businesses. My experience in this realm has further prepared me to work with and teach Spanish to my amazing students.
I am not nor have I ever been a "textbook" teacher. I find using textbooks boring and my students ALWAYS hate them. So, I think outside the box and create my own resources and use other teachers' resources purchased here on TpT - HUGE shout out to Martina Bex of the Comprehensible Classroom. I method of instruction in my Spanish classes (lower levels, before AP) is Comprehensible Input-based. It teaches Spanish in such a way that most students enjoy, keeps them engaged, and doesn't force them to only "memorize" conjugation charts. While I do find the grammar component to be important, it is not the MOST important, and when I throw it in, I do so in a Comprehensible manner.
