TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I've taught 1st and 2nd grade for 10 years. My strengths are in reading, writing, and behavior management. I absolutely LOVE teaching and making students independent learners. Watching students grow and learn so much within a year is a great feeling!

MY TEACHING STYLE

My teaching style is engaging, nurturing, and constant learning all bundled into one! I have high expectations for my little ones, but know if I don't give my students who haven't quite gotten it a little more practice and time, they will struggle to succeed. I want all of my students to have a positive experience with learning. If they're not loving it then I have to figure out how to change that mindset or what I'm doing. I have a lot of independent tasks to encourage engaging learning. I incorporate many tasks my students love participating in. I ask for student feedback often because if they're not enjoying it, they won't be engaged and, therefore, won't be learning!
