TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I currently teach grades 7-12 science courses. In the past seven years I have taught biology, chemistry, physics, physical science, forensics, anatomy, and earth science classes. I teach in a K-12 school and work closely with elementary teachers for many science lessons. Occasionally I am able to do a K-6 STEM class, I meet with each grade one time per week to complete activities focused on NGSS standards, engineering design process, and this spring will be adding in basic computer coding skills.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Hands-on and inquiry based, differentiated instruction, understanding by design lesson planning.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I hold a BS in biology Keene State College in Keene NH. Past professional developlement includes participating in Planting Science summer institute (2011) and participant in Research Experience for Teachers in Engineering (2011 and 2012), and a Research Experience for Teachers in biomedical engineering (2013). I have completed training in writing Understanding by Design units and performance tasks. Additionally I have done trainings with NH Fish and Game, Code.org, and most recently been part of a 3 year STEM partners professional development along with several other schools in my region.
