Denise Carter's Smarty BunchTM

I am a veteran teacher, artist, presenter, songwriter, skills specialist, testing coordinator, Title I representative and most of an advocate for teachers, parents and students alike. I am a wife and the mother of two young girls. I am a graduate of Sam Houston State Univ. and obtained a Masters in Education from Prairie View A & M. Denise currently works as a Math/ Reading Skills Specialist and Educational Consultant. I have over 14 years of professional experience in alternative, private, public school and training teachers. I was compelled to create and launch my Smarty BunchTM program – “Smart Learning for a Lifetime†in hopes of reaching as many students as possible. My goals consist of training teachers, parents and students to utilize my Smarty BunchTM songs and techniques in classrooms across America. My philosophy is all children can learn given time, attention and an opportunity. God has given me a gift and I want to share it with teachers, students and parents across the nation. I use a back-to-basics method of approach with songs, chants and positive affirmations as effective tools to create and maintain a positive and effective learning environment. My songs are songs are set to the tunes of childhood nursery rhymes which enables a child to use their prior knowledge of these tunes to recall information quickly. The lyrics of the songs, written by myself. They are simple and to the point. My focus is to stimulate the learning ability and growth in all students. After implementing my learning techniques students will own the skills taught for a lifetime. I use kinesthetic, tactile, audio and visual learning styles through the use of games, interactive activities, and hands-on projects, as opposed to just worksheets. I was nominated teacher of the year in 2006 I was featured on Outlook Houston a local tv show in Houston I am on the Leadership Team I did an interview on Chaun Vaughn's radio show. Presenter at CAMT

I have a Master's Degree in Education with emphasis on curriculum and instruction. I have Principal Certification K-12.

I am an artist, so I have created original projects for the students to do instead of worksheets. I have 2 You Tube videos up, and running and lots of students tell me they use my math videos to help them.
