MY TEACHING STYLE

I aim to focus on student-centered learning that encourages students to take ownership of their reading and writing growth. My classroom environment relies on teacher-led, gradual release modeling, literature circles, technology, visual and musical mediums, and student choices/differentiation to engage my kids.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I have taught all levels of high school English. I currently teach British Literature at a high-poverty school with a transient population. While Thomas Hardy, Virginia Woolf, and Shakespeare are literary trifecta, I enjoy everything from YA recommendations (via my students) to Chuck Palahniuk.
