TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been teaching for 25 years in a wide variety of settings and locations--Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Illinois, Maryland, and Texas, primarily 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grades.. I have a Masters Degree in Special Education. I have thought in both general education and special education classrooms.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I try to create lessons and activities that grab students' attention and keeps them actively engaged. I want all children to be thinking and participating in the whole lesson, not just watching their peers work. I also like to include a follow-up activity that allows each child to reflect on the lesson and show what they've learned and understood. My activities are designed for all levels of ability so that each child feels that they can truly show what they know!
