Dave and Amy Games EFL ESL ELL

Dave and Amy have been been teaching English in Saitama, Japan since 1996. They opened Dave and Amy English School in 2004. It currently has 4 locations with over 500 students. They wrote the My English Book and Me 1 - 6 texts (for kinder - grade 6 students). They also produce Dave and Amy Games: Flip 'n Read, Read 'n Match, flashcards, ??? cards and bingos. The materials can be used independently. Or as great supplementary activities with each text.

Both Dave and Amy believe in fun, educational lessons where kids teach themselves. Children work in pairs or groups with level appropriate materials. Children help each other when needed. The teacher helps as a last resort. With level appropriate materials and materials that progress easily and naturally from 1 level to the next, this is easy. We want students who are self confident, self directed and not afraid to make mistakes. Our texts and materials help children become independent learners.

Amy graduated with a degree in Japanese History from Brown University in America. Dave graduated with a degree in Politics from Birmingham University i England.

Dave and Amy came to Japan in 1996. Both thought they would live in Japan for 1 year. 21 years (and counting) later, with 2 kids, 4 schools, My English Book and Me 1 - 6 and Dave and Amy Games.... they are not leaving anytime soon. Both kids go to the local Japanese schools and play for the Urawa Reds Junior soccer team. We speak English at home and Japanese outside the house.
