As a continuation high school teacher, I have come to believe the most important issue for my students is not WHAT I teach as much as my relationship with them AS their teacher. If I cannot inspire them to believe in themselves, even as I believe in them... than the subject material I teach will mean nothing for them. If I can move their heart... than I can move their mind!
Successfully lead a group of 30 students to professionally publish a class-created fictional novel (Reflections of Time, Tudor Publishing, North Carolina, 2000. No longer in print.). Was honored at Lodi Unified School District Board meeting for publishing that novel. Featured on national news program INSIDE EDITION for classroom assignment (Letter to the Future). (If you wish to see the segment, here is a Youtube version of it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XY8E088dlL4 ) Will be featured in statewide teacher magazine California Educator, February/March edition for Letter to the Future assignment.
