TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I am currently a 6th grade Social Studies teacher! I have taught this curriculum since 2016! I have also been a swim coach at the high school, middle school, and recreational levels since 2008. I led Children's Chapel for many years and created a Bible Study curriculum and Christmas Pageant for my church.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My style is to make lessons memorable. It is not practical to think that our students will remember everything we have said and taught, but they will remember the activities and the things that caught their attention and that they enjoyed doing. It is my job to make topics intriguing, so that the students want to learn and learn more.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I was named the 2014 Gwinnett County Swim League Coach of the Year.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I graduated from the Duluth cluster in 2013, after attending Berkeley Lake Elementary, Duluth Middle, and Duluth High. I graduated from Georgia State University in 2016 with my Bachelor's in Middle Level Education with concentrations in Social Studies and Language Arts. I graduated from Clemson University in 2020 with my Master's in Literacy and ESOL.
