I began my journey with social and emotional learning my second year as an educator. Fast-forward 10 years and I am still on that journey. Instead of simply learning how to embed these skills into my classroom management, I am now an advocate for social and emotional learning in every classroom. I have worked as a classroom teacher, an administrator for a non-profit serving homeless children, a first grade teacher, and a social emotional learning coach. In my current position as a coach, my job is to support teachers in embedding social and emotional learning skills directly into how they manage their classrooms. For every 1 minute spent on SEL skills training, teachers WILL gain 11 minutes of instructional time back. Come join me!!
I am loving, firm, and flexible! We love to have fun but we love to dig deep! We love our classroom family BIG and we learn how to be social creatures within the context of this healthy family model.
In several of my roles within organizations, positions and promotions have been created to suit my expertise and passion. I have been granted over $1300 in money for one campus to fund SEL skills classroom management and have lead countless hours of professional development.
