TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I bring 13 years of teaching experience in both regular and special education classes to my work creating resources for elementary classrooms. Over the years I have continued to further my knowledge of best classroom practices, and taken additional qualifications courses in Math, Reading, Special Education, and Library Science.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I feel that students do their best work when they have a good relationship with their teachers, and when the classroom environment is non-threatening. Clear classroom expectations coupled with gentle but consistent follow-through allow me to create the most effective classroom environment for my students. I enjoy using a cross-stranded inquiry approach while helping my students be successful in mastering curriculum expectations, and I try to build choice into my program as much as possible to help with differentiated instruction.
