ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I grew up in Austin, Texas and attended school in AISD. By the time I finished high school I was ready to get away from the big city, so I chose to attend college at Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, TX. After graduating with my teaching certification, I went on to teach in "Small Town East Texas" for a few years when I started missing my family. Ten years, two degrees, and six years of teaching experience later, I decided to move closer to home. I'm now settled into College Station, figuring out how to survive Aggieland as a diehard Longhorn. This background has provided me a unique perspective on education. I've learned the benefits and challenges of both rural and urban schools, small and large. Through it all, I'm thankful for every experience as it has made me the educator I am today. I love my job with a deep burning passion, and consider myself lucky to get to wake up every day and do what I do.
