Classroom Ms Fit

After a long career in communications, I decided to make the switch to education. I got my foot in the door by working as an AVID math tutor for one year. The following year I was my own teacher; taking over Remedial Algebra I, Geometry and PAP Geometry. After four years I moved to a much larger district and taught AP Statistics, AP Calculus AB, AP Calculus BC, Algebra II, PAP Algebra II. Through out the years I have also played a large role in creating activities for special education students. This year I am focused on building my understanding of how to best address the learning needs of students within this population. I spent seven months in a special needs Pre-K class, and my husband is a special education teacher. Through these relationships, I hope to create more for these amazing kids.

As most of you probably are, my true teaching style is a mixed bag of nutts. How I decide to pursue a particular topic depends on the needs of my students more than anything. That being said, sometimes I'm am more traditional and structured, other times I give my students the freedom to be more exploratotry and experimental. Untimately, my main goal as classroom facilitator is to open my students' eyes to the many ways in which they can both learn and help educate their peers.

I am married with 2 barking furbabies, 14 fish, 2 parakeets, and 100+ backyard deer. My husband and I are also currently going for baby number one....baby dust appreciated!
