I have been teaching 32 years. I spent 16 years teaching 6th grade science, 8 years teaching 2nd grade, 2 years in 3rd grade, 1 year in 1st grade, and now have been in 5th grade science for 5 years.
I am a balance of several different things. I make sure to make time for direct teaching, modeling, assisted practice, then independent practice. I like to include plenty of hands-on lessons and workstation type activities.
In my 32 years, I was nominated for teacher of the year several times and was department lead for multiple years. I have received service awards for 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, and 30 years in our district.
I received my BSED from the University of Georgia.
I am married and have 2 children (23 and 20)
