36 years in public education, the last 32 in LAUSD
I used living history in the classroom, dressing for the time periods I was covering, often in armor I had made or in garb which was made for me, in an effort to bring history to life. In my 36 years, I accomplished 156 different dressups. Faced with students with learning or language difficulties, I developed PowerPoints, many of which featured pictures of me photoshopped into historical scenes.
