I taught 4th grade for 13 years and have been teaching 5th and 6th grade ELA for the past 2.
I firmly believe that kids need (and sometimes, crave) structure in their lives, so I try to maintain a highly structured classroom for my students. I like to balance that structure by showing students my silly side and incorporating humor into my lessons as much as possible.
