I currently teach second grade in an immersion program and I have 10 years of experience in public schools with Writer's Workshop and CGI math in Los Angeles.
I foster creativity, encourage higher-level thinking and focus on student choice in my classroom. My hope is that every student's curiosity is piqued and that each child in my classroom is excited to learn!
I am a Cotsen Fellow in the area of CGI Math and studied under Megan Franke as a graduate student. I have received my local PTA's Outstanding Teacher Award for the 2014-2015 academic year.
In kindergarten, I starred in the Christmas play (a benefit of being the shortest child in school)... and later was one of the smallest people to graduate Summa Cum Laude from UCLA. After that, I earned a Master's degree from UCLA's Teacher Education Program and, alas, I am still a diminutive person.
I am a native Los Angeleno, a world traveler, an avid reader and a great lover of the arts.
