Welcome parents, students, and friends! My name is Kim Cannon, and I began my journey in education back in 2000. My first year I taught 6th grade U.S. History. Stayed home for a couple of years after having my son, then, I explored teaching 8th grade English. I am currently back teaching 6th grade U.S. History, which is my PASSION!
With 30 computers (after grants and fundraising) and 160 students, I can say that technology, Google Classroom, and hands-on learning rule in my classroom! I currently teach U.S. History and have spent years perfecting each and every lesson. I am constantly changing, and improving lessons to help ensure I reach every one of my students!
First Year Teacher of the year for the county.
I attended public school in Woodbridge, Virginia and attended the University of Mary Washington. It was there I received my Bachelor of Arts in History. I continued my education at the prestigious George Mason University, whereby receiving my Masters in Education.
As far back as I can remember, I knew I would be a teacher. There has never been a moment when I could see myself doing anything else. I absolutely love my job and will continue to be a teacher, until I cannot physically teach anymore!
